Dr.Cohen is a very caring and thorough doctor. He saved my eyesight during the height of the covid pandemic .My eye pressure was ridiculously high. He scheduled surgery and has kept very close observation of my progress. My eye pressure has been stable for 2 years. I couldn't be more grateful .

  • I was pretty nervous when I saw Dr. Cohen for the first time and he told me I need to have cataracts removed in both eyes. And he would insert lenses to replace my coke bottle glasses. I had been struggling with my vision over the past few years. Working on a computer every day was getting harder and harder. I had my work arounds but I got tired of hearing myself say, “what does that say”, “I can’t see it”. Watching a movie with subtitles was exhausting. Dr. Cohen put my mind at ease right away and talked me through what he was going to do making sure I understood exactly what was about to happen. I am a living miracle! Before the reading eye chart was so sad but now I can read the eye chart from across the room. Down to pretty small print. Because I was so myopic I will still need readers for reading labels and tiny print up close. I can see my computer screens perfectly. Thanks to Dr. Cohen’s talent and skill I came through the procedures on both eyes with flying colors. No pain during the operation and minimal discomfort afterward. Don’t be afraid, you are in good hands. Shout out to the office team for their help and kindness!

  • I have been a patient of Dr. Cohen for just about a year. I was fortunate to have been referred to him by my Ophthalmologist to treat me for early-onset Glaucoma. I am a 50-year-old man who, unfortunately, has been plagued with several other medical conditions in addition to the Glaucoma. Dr. Cohen tried treating me first with non-surgical methods; however, they were not successful, before, during, and after surgery, Dr. Cohen was amazing. Dr. Cohen is one of the most compassionate and caring doctors you will ever find, and I have seen my fair share of specialists. Dr. Cohen takes his time; you never feel rushed he explains and makes sure you are entirely comfortable with everything that Is happening. My case was severe due to my other conditions, but Dr. Cohen never gave up; Dr. Cohen was always there, educating, and calming me. He saved my sight, and I will always be grateful to him. I could not have found a better Dr., no matter how far I traveled!

I don’t typically write reviews, but this is one review that is very important to me given the successful and life changing surgery I received from Dr. Cohen. I was diagnosed with glaucoma at 35, I am now 63. I have been seeing the same ophthalmologist all these years but over time the glaucoma drops were not reducing the eye pressure to an acceptable level. I also developed cataracts that needed to be addressed. My ophthalmologist suggested I see Dr. Cohen. From the moment I stepped into Dr. Cohen’s office I felt comfortable with the very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Dr. Cohen explained all the options available and took all the time I needed to answer my many questions. Dr. Cohen advised to due a combined cataract surgery and eye stents surgery to reduce the pressure in both eyes. The result is excellent vision, and lower pressure. No more glasses, or contacts which is life changing for me! I can not say enough how happy I am with the surgery and its results. I would highly recommend Dr. Cohen. Thank you Dr. Cohen for my life changing results!

  • I started going to Dr Cohen after my regular eye doctor could no long get my eye pressure under control and was told I might need eye surgery. I went to Dr Cohen with an eye pressure of 32 to 34 that just would not come down with the use of 3 types of eye drops and even after having laser surgery. Dr Cohen took his time and explained about a surgery using something called a xen stent. The procedure was very pain free and no down time and no drops were needed at all in my left eye and I am going on 3 years eye drop free with a pressure of 15 to 17. The right eye was much worse. The xen stent only lasted a yr and then Dr Cohen added some sort of shunt to my right eye. Again no pain or down time. As of today my pressures remain steady about 17. I have to admit a was very afraid but Dr Cohen took the time to explain everything and reassure me it was not a difficult procedure. (He was so right) I have never found a Dr. to be more caring and so good at what at what he does. He saved my eyesight and got the pressure normal. Recently a family member asked me to move to FL with them, my response was I cant leave my Glaucoma doctor. If you do your research and read up on Dr. Cohen you will see the reason he is so dedicated to conquering this awful eye disease, is because his grandma suffered from it and it can be inherited All I can say is he really cares about his patience and getting the pressure down and saving vision. You will never find a Dr. this knowledgeable and who is constantly keeping up with the latest procedures coming out for glaucoma.

Dr. Cohen is absolutely an amazing doctor! My dad, who only has sight in one eye, had cataract surgery and Dr. Cohen took great care and had genuine concern for him. I would definitely recommend Dr. Cohen to anyone who is thinking about cataract surgery!

Glaucoma

What is glaucoma?

Glaucoma is a condition where the nerve that sends images from the eye to the brain is damaged. It is usually caused by high eye pressure and can lead to vision loss. Glaucoma is sometimes referred to as the “silent thief” because it can gradually steal a person’s vision without pain or symptoms.

Fortunately, we can test for glaucoma in our Livingston, NJ office.  With regular eye exams, early detection, and proper medical care, you can preserve your sight and prevent vision loss.

Cataracts

What is a cataract?

A cataract is the clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye.  Individuals with cataracts complain of blurred or decreased vision.
